In an attempt to dump salary, the Washington Wizards continue to shop center Etan Thomas, who has been on the market since last winter's trade deadline. But trading Thomas could be tough. He has three years at close to $20 million left on his deal, and there is a trade kicker in his contract that boosts his salary by 10 to 15 percent.

Among that group is former Bucks forward Desmond Mason, who played the past two seasons with the New Orleans Hornets after being traded by the Bucks for center Jamaal Magloire just before training camp in 2005.

Golden State Warriors' forward Matt Barnes said he has not received the offers he anticipated after a breakthrough season.
"Right now, there's nothing happening," he said. "I was thinking the midlevel exception was realistic, but my agent has been telling me teams have questioned whether the success I had was because of (Warriors coach Don) Nelson's system and whether or not I could have the same success in another system."

The likelihood of restricted free agent forward Anderson Varejao returning to the Cleveland Cavaliers increased dramatically with several events around the NBA on Wednesday.
The Orlando Magic got Rashard Lewis for six years and $110 million in a sign-and-trade deal with the Seattle SuperSonics. But the Magic were unable to create enough salary-cap space to keep promising big man Darko Milicic and renounced his rights to complete the deal. Several media outlets then reported that Milicic quickly reached a long-term deal with the Memphis Grizzlies.
The Grizzlies, who had $8 million in salary-cap space, had been courting both Milicic and Varejao, meeting with them over the last week. With the Grizzlies now out of the picture, Varejao has no suitors left that have cap space to present him with an offer sheet.
